Dies Wedding Bridal Party : Ashelyn Manor

Brooke and Michael Dies got married at the beautiful Ashelynn Manor in Magnolia, Texas. The guys were fun, but the girls in the bridal party really knew how to work it! Here’s a few photos of the ladies from Brooke’s special day!

Fintel Wedding : Spring, TX

I had another great wedding shooting with Lindsay from My Story Keeper. The ceremony was held at Trinity Lutheran Church. The reception was held at the awesome Northwest Forest Conference Center. I love this location! It would be great to get married there because of all of the unique locations within the acreage and the gorgeous scenery. The property has many different areas with different styles, which would allow you to pick a place within the property that suits your specific taste. Check out a few pictures from Jen and Kurt’s special day.

Galveston Wedding: Alicia & Tomek

Can I just say that I love weddings? Seriously. I think I’ve seen the movie “The Wedding Planner” at least a hundred times. I even had that song “Plan On Forever” from the movie sung at my own wedding! So when Alicia asked me to photograph her wedding, I was ecstatic! I’ve second shot many weddings for other photographers before, but this would be my very first on my own. And what a special wedding it was!

Let me set the scene – Alicia and Tomek met at UT and now live in Georgia. However, Alicia grew up in the area so they decided to have it here. Tomek is from Poland, so there were lots of cool accents to be heard. The guest attendance was an intimate 50 people. The ceremony was on the beach in Beachtown, and then everyone went into a gorgeous beach house for the reception (or “after party” as it may have been called).

At the reception, everywhere you looked there were handmade touches. This bride was on it! She made the cupcakes, the table arrangements, and even the bouquets!

A big thank you to Kelly for second shooting for me. She’ll be posting her photos here.

Williamson Wedding : Houston, TX

I’ve second shot weddings with Kori from Motley Melange several times, so when I found out that she had recommended me to Lindsay from My Story Keeper, I knew we were in for a fun wedding! Olga and Kevin’s wedding was just that. The ceremony was held at the historic St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, and the groom’s father officiated. When we arrived, we were informed that there was to be no flash photography of any kind, and that we could only shoot from the balcony. Hmm. I love a good challenge! I was able to use my 24-105 lens for the wide shots, and I borrowed Lindsay’s 70-200 for the closer up shots. I think that lens may be my next purchase…

The reception was held at the Petroleum Club. I’ve shot here once before with Jenna from My Happy Lens and I absolutely love this location! It’s on the 43rd floor of the Exxon/Mobil building in downtown Houston and at sunset it is just magical! Olga and Kevin met at University of Texas where they were both Chemistry majors. Needless to say, there were a lot of jokes made about how much “chemistry” they had together. The bride is Russian, so it was neat to see the traditional Russian touches that were included at the reception including Russian dancers and a bread ceremony. Even the table assignment cards had nesting dolls attached for the guests to take home with them. I also learned the tradition of when the crowd yells ‘gorko’, the bride and groom are supposed to kiss. This happened quite a bit during the reception. 🙂
