About six years ago, my husband and I were in Kelly and Rob’s wedding at the beautiful Hotel Galvez. It was a awesome night, so I knew that when Kelly and Robert wanted to renew their vows and have a catholic wedding ceremony, that it would be equally as great. Their convalidation had a different feel to it – instead of it being two young kids in love, what we saw before us were two young adults who have already been through the joy of raising kids, being married for a few years and worked out the kinks, and have a mature love that they wanted to proclaim before their friends and family that they still love one another and that they want to include God in their marriage. It was a simple and sweet ceremony. It was just two people in love. The ceremony was held at Old St. Mary’s Catholic Church on main street in League City, TX. I’ve driven by this church probably a hundred times and thought how cute it was, so I was eager to get inside and get some photos of the historic building. Before the ceremony, Kelly told me, “It’s not very pretty in here.” My response? “You won’t be able to tell.” And you know what? I think I was right. What I see when I look at these photos is pure love and emotion – not an old church. But I’ll let you be the judge.
